GRHS Lester Prairie Medical Clinic
The Lester Prairie Medical Clinic located at 1024 Central Avenue is a satellite office of Glencoe Regional Health Services. It offers the quality, convenience and personal care for which GRHS has become known.
The clinic, which opened in March 2007, has a light and airy entrance lobby. The reception desk has two countertop levels to accommodate all patients. The waiting room artwork features a landscape quilt depicting a northern Minnesota lake. In fact, all of the artwork in the clinic is by Minnesota artists, including local artist Bonnie Mohr.
The clinic has nine exam rooms, three of which are larger for improved handicapped accessibility. Each room also has an extra chair for family members who may accompany the patient to their appointment. The open nursing station and prep areas allow nursing staff to easily see what is happening for the entire patient visit.
There is also a minor procedure room, with an adjustable table and special lighting. It is used for such procedures as mole removal, ingrown nails, laceration repair, and casting.
Medical imaging digital technology has been incorporated into the new facility. X-rays are stored as digital images in a computer system rather than on actual film. This allows for faster processing time and gives the medical provider the ability to view the image on a computer screen, whether at the Lester Prairie Clinic or at another GRHS site. The images can also be transmitted to a radiologist in seconds for reading.
The lab is well-equipped and the results of lab tests go into the electronic, computer-based medical record, as well as into the patient chart. This allows the provider to view the lab results, even from one of the other clinic locations. The physicians are also able to sign their documents electronically. The documents are then printed directly to the medical records area.

There are normally two providers at the clinic each day, Monday through Friday.
